Christopher Johnstone畢業(yè)于英國(guó)格拉斯哥大學(xué)，獲得對(duì)外英語(yǔ)教學(xué)碩士學(xué)位。他擁有10年中英兩地的英語(yǔ)教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)，曾在浙江、廣東、湖南的學(xué)校擔(dān)任英語(yǔ)講師，在英國(guó)格拉斯哥大學(xué)擔(dān)任EAP老師。

Christopher Johnstone graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Master of Eduacaiton in TESOL. He has ten years of teaching experience in China and the UK. He taught in Zhejiang, Hunan and Guangdong as an English Language lecturer. He also taught in the pre-sessional program at the University of Glasgow as a tutor of English forAcademic Purposes.

Christopher Johnstone, has lived in China for many years. He loves Chinese food very much,

especially "suan cai yu", which is "very, very spicy." He is always passionate both in work and in life.

擁有10年中英兩地的英語(yǔ)教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)，Chris曾在浙江、廣東、湖南的國(guó)際學(xué)校擔(dān)任英語(yǔ)講師，細(xì)數(shù)10年的教學(xué)生涯，Chris認(rèn)為寓教于樂(lè)非常重要。

Chris believes that an element of fun in the classroom is important and he has been trying his best to guide students in relating their English learning to positive experiences. "And so in the classrooms, we do try to make it as student-centered as possible. It"s not along traditional memorisation of words, but we will try and bring the language to life now as well as being an effective method of teaching; we hope that long term, the students will continue to associate learning English with a positive experience."

As one of the founding members of Fettes College Guangzhou, Chris is proud of the job, " Being from Scotland, it was a dream to be offered a position at such a reputable school. Meanwhile, Chris is also a father of a girl, born during his life at FCG.

作為一名父親，Chris認(rèn)為學(xué)習(xí)環(huán)境對(duì)于孩子的成長(zhǎng)非常重要，“可以在斐特思這樣的環(huán)境里撫養(yǎng)孩子，我們很高興，這是一個(gè)非常好的地方。”良好的學(xué)習(xí)環(huán)境創(chuàng)造了雙向的果實(shí)，學(xué)生們的語(yǔ)言技能在得到提升的同時(shí)，老師也從中收獲了成就感。從業(yè)10年，Chris仍充滿激情。談及在中國(guó)教學(xué)生涯最大的體驗(yàn)，Chris首先就用了“Exciting”來(lái)形容。

As a father, Chris believes that the learning environment is very important for children"s growth. "We"re very happy. We think it"s a lovely environment to bring up a child." He has been teaching for almost ten years, and he is always passionate. He described his time working in China as an "exciting" experience.

“我覺(jué)得這是一次非常充實(shí)的經(jīng)歷，因?yàn)槟憧吹搅藢?shí)實(shí)在在的東西，你的學(xué)生取得了進(jìn)步，學(xué)生們也總是樂(lè)于與你保持聯(lián)系，作為一名教師，這是一段非常有意義的經(jīng)歷，你知道你給你教過(guò)的學(xué)生留下了印象。”

"My time teaching in China has been a very fulfilling experience because you see the tangible progress that your students make; students are also very good at keeping in touch with you, so this really makes a rewarding experience as a teacher. You know you"ve left an impression on the students you"ve taught," said Chirs.

而中國(guó)極具特色的文化也是吸引他留在國(guó)內(nèi)發(fā)展的一大原因，“10年前我第一次來(lái)中國(guó)的時(shí)候，我就愛(ài)上了這個(gè)國(guó)家和文化，這里的人都很熱情好客，還有各種各樣的美食，就連天氣也比蘇格蘭好很多。”說(shuō)到中國(guó)的美食，Chris兩眼放光，特別提到了湖南菜“酸菜魚(yú)”，“那是我第一次嘗試中國(guó)菜，真的非常、非常辣，但我想，那太棒了，我喜歡這個(gè)味道。那時(shí)我們每周都會(huì)吃一次。”

Also, Chris is very interested in Chinese culture. "The first time I came to China was in 2011, and I fell in love with the country and the culture. The people were so welcoming, the food was delicious, the weather is better than in Scotland. "Among Chinese cuisines, he loves "Suan cai yu" very much. "That was my introduction to Chinese food, which was very, very spicy. And I thought, excellent, I love that. "

對(duì)Chris來(lái)說(shuō)，體驗(yàn)不同文化、不同學(xué)習(xí)和教學(xué)方式非常令人激動(dòng)。在中國(guó)教學(xué)的這十年他過(guò)得很充實(shí)。“我想說(shuō)這是令人難忘的。它不僅給我的職業(yè)生活，也給我的個(gè)人生活留下了深刻的影響。”

It was very exciting for Chris to experience different cultures and learning styles, and he thought it memorable. "It has left such a deep impact on not only my professional life but also my personal life. And my time living in China has been inntertwined with the jobs I have done and so many memorable experiences inside and outside the school. I would certainly have to say that "memorable" is one of the words that I associate with living and working in China.
