Knowing the Past
and Present in Poetry
As an international school, CISKattaches great importance to integrating traditional culture into the curriculumand campus life while emphasizing international courses and teaching in English. It is also an unswerving policy of the International Baccalaureate Organization - respect for the cultural heritage of the mother tongue.
In class, CISK students pay attention not just to language but to the teaching of traditional culture, especially poetry. In the Chinese curriculum system, ancient poetry is taught throughout CISK students" time at school,from kindergarten to high school. Under the guidance oftheir teachers, children in kindergarten similarly express their love for life through singingpurely and naturally.
There are poetry units in each school year at CISK, which also greatly stimulates students’ creativity. Poetry expresses feelings. Words define their perception of life.
CISK的每一學(xué)年都有詩(shī)歌單元,極大地激發(fā)學(xué)生的創(chuàng)作欲。詩(shī)以言情,文字就是他們對(duì)生活的感悟;

Inhigh school literature classes, students go a step further to explore the relationship between poetry and individuals, society, and history. Following the path of famous poets such as Du Fu, Su Shi, and Li Qingzhao, students live and growwith these sages inpoems expressing emotions from joy to grief.
