本學期學生主要學習代數各級的方程式、排列、繪圖和解答的方法。代數的學習重點也會因學生的班級而不同,學習范圍從簡單的一兩步方程式到線性方程,再到二次方程和指數。到本單元結束,學生將會進入序列的學習。

To take advantage of our recent reliance on computers, students have developed Microsoft Excel spreadsheet skills. Excel is a tool that provides needed application support for students to report and analyze data across all subjects. Currently, students are focusing on the use of autofill, functions, and creating charts and graphs.由于目前學生都已經在用電腦上網課,因此我們將會花一些時間學習微軟辦公軟件Excel。這一直是我們的一個教學計劃,因為學生將來在報告和分析任何學科時都會使用這一工具。目前,我們學習的技能是自動填充、函數編寫和繪制圖形相關。

These skillswill be used together ontheirfinance projects that mimic real life experiences. Students will use Excel and their algebraic skills to compare different products. Students will make calculations in simple and compound interest, and some with more advanced skills will be able to look at basic loans or annuities. Studentsinterested in pure mathematicswill be able to study the natural exponent e, as they learn about calculating continuousinterest.這些技能將在他們的金融項目中發揮重要作用,并與現實生活息息相關。屆時學生們將使用 Excel 和代數技能來比較不同的產品。這也將涉及到單利和復利的計算,以及更高程度的學生能夠查看基本貸款或年金。對于對純數學更感興趣的學生,在學習連續利率的時候將有機會研究自然指數 e。
