孔博士帶著Curious George回來了！

孔博士前段時間回了一趟香港，本周，她又攜手她最親愛的朋友（也是我們大家的好朋友）好奇的喬治（Curious George）回到了VPA校園中！

她非常關(guān)心每個學(xué)生的身心健康，以及他們的學(xué)業(yè)。雖然她這段時間都不在深圳，但她仍然與學(xué)生和老師們保持著緊密的聯(lián)系。她也通過接收學(xué)校文件以及閱讀維校周報來了解學(xué)校里發(fā)生的點點滴滴。

孔博士非?？释氐叫@，這樣才能夠每天迎接學(xué)生們的到來，看到他們的笑臉。在過去的一周中，她拜訪了每一間教室，與每個學(xué)生和老師進行了交流，并且還與家長們通過（PTA）家長教師會、兩場“咖啡之約”，以及單獨預(yù)約，進行了會面。

Dr. Koong is back with Curious George!

Dr. Koong was back to Hong Kong for a few weeks and she is now back on campus at VPA with her dearest friend (as well as our good friends) Curious George!

She truly cares about every student’s well beings physically and mentally, and their academic performance. Even though she was away for a short period of time, she still kept staying connected with the students and teachers by regularly checking our school drive or newsletter for updates and photos.

She was eager to be physically back on campus to welcome and stay with our happy students every day. This week, she visited every classes, talked to every students and teachers, and also met with parents through a PTA meeting, two coffee chat, and individual appointments.

孔博士到學(xué)校的第一件事就是走進課堂，與孩子們聚在一起。她給自己排了滿滿的課表，連續(xù)兩天都跟學(xué)生一同上課。孩子們向她提出了很多問題，興奮地向她分享著自己的功課。

孔博士還與孩子們一起做題、一起探究。他們都非常享受這個過程，孔博士不光知識淵博還和藹可親！

The first thing that Dr. Koong did was to walk into the classes and be with the children. She set up a full schedule for herself to stay in the classrooms for 2 days. Children asked her about so many questions and shared their works.

Dr. Koong also work with them and they all enjoyed the process, Dr. Koong is so warm and knowledge!

與喬治解答

孩子們的勤學(xué)好問讓孔博士想到了好奇的喬治（Curious George）。她在剛開學(xué)的時候就向全校師生介紹了她的好朋友，好奇的喬治，并且告訴孩子們，如果他們對什么事情感到好奇，都可以向喬治詢問。我們還設(shè)置了一個提問箱，讓孩子們把自己的問題投放至箱內(nèi)，問出好問題的孩子會得到孔博士親自派送的小香蕉！

孩子們問出了許多精彩的問題，他們對很多事情都抱有好奇心，也真的很愛思考！

在這一周內(nèi)，我們陸陸續(xù)續(xù)收到了越來越多的問題，孩子們非常積極地參與提問。

孔博士帶著Curious George和小香蕉拜訪了每個班級，給提出問題的孩子們一一解答，拿到自己問卷回答的時候孩子們都非常興奮！他們不敢相信Curious George如此聰明，且非常有耐心。

Children"s curiosity made Dr. Kong think of Curious George. She introduced Curious George at the very beginning of the school year, and told children that they can ask questions about things that they are curious about. She set up a question box and they can put their question slips into the box, children who ask good questions will get a little banana from Dr. Koong!

They asked so many great questions, they are truly curious about so many things and love thinking!

This week, we"ve received many questions and children have been very actively participating.

Dr. Koong visited each class with Curious George and the little bananas, answered the questions one by one, and children were very excited when they got them! They couldn"t believe how smart and patient Curious George was.

與家長會面

本周三，我們有幸邀請到了80多位家長，親臨VPA參與孔博士“咖啡之約”，與孔博士一起喝喝咖啡，進行面對面交流和探討。

這兩場“咖啡之約”的重點在于介紹我們即將開辦的VPA中學(xué)，其中包括課程框架、學(xué)習(xí)內(nèi)容等。

延續(xù)小學(xué)的課程框架，我們的課程包含了基礎(chǔ)課型程、探究型課程和拓展型課程，拓展型課程又包含了身心發(fā)展、文化自信、國際勝任力、創(chuàng)新思維四個核心模塊。

中學(xué)也會保持分層教學(xué)，給不同層次的孩子提供不同程度，但真正適合每個人的優(yōu)質(zhì)教學(xué)。我們的教學(xué)既有深度，又有廣度，由概念出發(fā)，吸取知識，再實踐技能。我們的雙語教育也會繼續(xù)專注于閱讀，強化分級閱讀、以讀促寫。

我們還給學(xué)生們準備了多條升學(xué)路徑，為他們的未來提供更多的選擇，助他們走向更廣闊的天地：

· 所有小學(xué)生在達到基本要求后可直升本校初中部；

· 初中畢業(yè)生在同等條件下可獲香港滬江維多利亞學(xué)校(VSA)優(yōu)先錄取；

· 或者可以在國內(nèi)外頂尖的IBDP、A-Level、AP、DSE等高中項目課程中快速適應(yīng)和融入；

· 維多利亞(中國)教育集團也擬在深圳開辦高中部，VPA初中畢業(yè)生在達到要求以后在未來也或許可直升VPA高中部。

在此活動的前一天，我們還開展了第二次家長教師會（PTA），與家長代表們共同探討學(xué)校存在的問題和解決方案，為了讓我們的學(xué)?？梢栽睫k越好。

Meeting with parents

This Wednesday, we were very pleased to have over 80 parents join with us in Dr. Koong"s "Coffee Chat," to drink some coffee with her and communicate with her.

The "Coffee Chat" was focusing on introducing our upcoming middle school and its cirriculum.

Continuing with what we have for elementary school, our cirriculum includes the fundamental courses, inquiry-based courses and expanded courses. Expanded courses contains four parts called "CORE."

We will keep our differenciation, to provide learnings in different levels to different students. Our teaching not only has its depth, but also has a wide range. We start from the concepts, to receive contents, and then practice skills. Our bilingual education will also continue to focus on levelled reading, and read to write.

We"ve also prepared multiple pathways for students to have more choices in the future and to strive in the world:

· All students from our VPA elementary can go straight up to middle school after meeting the basic requirements;

· graduates from our middle schoolwill be given priority in admission to VSA;

· or they can attend other high schools with IBDP, A-Level, AP, DSE, etc;

· we are also planning to have our high school in the future.

On Tuesday, we had our second PTA meeting, and discussed the problems and solutions for our school to improve with parents.

不管是用中文，還是英文，不管是通過口頭表達，還是書面表達，又或是繪畫，以及各種各樣的方式，在VPA，我們給每個孩子同等的機會去發(fā)光發(fā)亮，鼓勵他們勇敢地表達自己。

VPA精彩教學(xué)

Curious George提問箱就是一個孔博士想到的，用來鼓勵孩子們表達的工具，我們希望他們能將自己腦子里精彩的想法和問題都拋出來，能夠不斷思考、不斷探究、不斷實踐、不斷進步。

我們所有的努力都是為了給學(xué)生們提供最優(yōu)質(zhì)的教學(xué)和環(huán)境，助力他們與世界接軌，希望他們能夠扎根中國、放眼世界。

Connecting with the world

No matter in Chinese or English, through verbal or written expression, or through drawing and other ways of expression, at VPA, we give every child the same opportunity to shine, and encourge them to express themselves.

VPA Great Learnings!

The Curious George question box is a great tool, came up by Dr. Koong, to encourge children to express. We hope that they can pull out their amazing thinkings and questions, and will be able to think, explore, practive, and improve constantly.

All of our hard works is to provide students the best education and environment, help them to connect with the world, and we hope that they can stay rooted in China while looking at the whole world.
