Winter Dance

隨著天氣漸涼，孩子們最期待的圣誕節(jié)也漸漸近了腳步。在我們翹首期待圣誕節(jié)的日子里，學(xué)校舉辦了冬季舞會(huì)，在這充滿期待和浪漫的氛圍里，學(xué)生們親自參與了從布置場(chǎng)地到活動(dòng)舉行的全過(guò)程，看著他們愉悅又滿足的笑臉，我們?cè)谶@冬日里也感受到了熱烈地喜悅。

As the weather gets cooler, the children"s most anticipated Christmas is getting closer. In the days when we were looking forward to Christmas, the school held a winter dance. In this anticipation and romantic atmosphere, the students personally participated in the whole process from setting up the venue to holding the event. Looking at their happy and satisfied smiling faces, We also feel warm joy in this winter.

LUNA:

Because I am the member of the Leadership, so I am the worker on the winter ball. Before we started, we have organized the plan of it, and distribute what is our work. Everybody did well. After winter ball started, we have done many things to make sure it would not have accident. Happily, the winter ball was successfully complete.

In the process, I really enjoyed it. When I helped others or did my work, I felt cheerful. Because I thought I am useful, successful, and did my work nice. Moreover, except the work, I have enjoyed the food and dance. The foods are delicious, dance is interesting. On this activity, I made new friends,and also improved my organization and communication ability. In addition, this activity helped me to know more about teachers, that’s also helped me to face teachers in various situations.

About the self-reflection, I hope I can be braver and help people more things. Then, I should be more positiveon organize activity and communicate with others. When it’s unsuccessful, just try again, don’t give up. Next time, I want to organized more things. About expectation, I hope it will have more people come to the activity which we organize.

SIMON：

At the start of the Ball, at 6 o"clock, when people were first arriving, people wandered around and talked, at about 6:30pm the buffet was ready and attendees ate and talked till 7:30pm,at 7:30pm they played a variety of minute to win it games, and after that, there was voting for the King, Queen, Prince, and Princess of the winter ball. Mr. Abbott announced the royalty. King was Sam Huang, Queen was Grace Hu, Prince was James Wu, and thePrincesswasClementineAbbott.Therewasasnowballdancewhichgoteverybodydancing. And for the last hour, people danced, doing group dances, freestyle, and having fun. leadership class and student council worked together with Mr. Barber and Mr. Tippets to plan the Winter ball. We divied up responsibilities between the leadership class and began to prepare, with different people working on decorations, some people preparing music playlists, and some people getting games ready. there were a number of problems that occured, we were unable to download the music but we figured out another way to play it. we had prepared a bunch of fun games to play but we ended up not playing them because they had mainly been filler, for when people didn"t want to dance. but we didn"t need them because people were excited and wanted to dance. there were some upsets, but overall, it was a really fun activity that went well. and we are excited to do the spring dance coming up later this year.

WHITNEY：

The winter ball was fun this year! Organizing was quite difficult. Finding decorations, making playlists, and keeping track of time and money was a learning experience that can help with future events.It is good that we chose Salt & Talk because it was a perfect site for the dance. It made it so we had to buy less decorations and provided food. The decorations we did bring were well arranged and it set the ideal mood. It was a little stressful when the music prepared was not working and, of course, somethings could have been planned more. However, the activities were incredibly fun and the food was good. When the King & Queen and Prince & Princess were crowned that was exciting. I think they must have felt very awkward dancing together after that. When everyone joined in though it was fun. Getting feedback from students should help next year"s dance be even better!

結(jié)束了冬季舞會(huì)，我們也將悄悄迎來(lái)圣誕節(jié)和中國(guó)新年，希望大家在年底這清涼的天氣里注意保暖，我們都健健康康地迎接接下來(lái)的活動(dòng)吧！
