For many British citizens worldwide, Christmas is a time to return home and spend time with each other. Traditional symbols of Christmas, such as trees decorated with tinsel, colourful baubles, a star and tiny fairy lights and a Santa Claus sitting in his sleigh with a sack of gifts pulled by reindeer, will be displayed all across the UK. Lunch on Christmas Day for British people typically includes roast turkey, roast potatoes, vegetables, gravy, cranberry sauce and a Yorkshire pudding, followed by a dessert of Christmas Pudding, set on fire before eating.

不論身在何方，圣誕節(jié)都是英國(guó)人合家歡聚的佳節(jié)。傳統(tǒng)的圣誕象征有用銀光閃閃的錫紙、五彩斑斕的飾品、璀璨閃耀的星星和美麗的仙女燈裝飾的常青松樹，還有坐在雪橇上的圣誕老人和身邊馴鹿拉著的一袋禮物。圣誕節(jié)當(dāng)天的午餐是一年中最豐盛的大餐，有令人垂涎欲滴的烤火雞、烤土豆、烤蔬菜和美味的肉汁、紅莓醬和約克郡布丁等，還有傳統(tǒng)的圣誕甜點(diǎn)——火焰布丁。

Wellington College International Hangzhou was transformed into a sea of joy when we celebrated the Winter Fair last Sunday. On this festive occasion, Wellington pupils sang carols on stage, the Wellington community enjoyed delicious festive foods from various vendors, and Santa and the elf sat for family photos and shared gingerbread man and Santa hats, what a joy. After an exhilarating light show, the Christmas tree was finally lit in an exciting countdown. The event brought warmth and love to the hearts of those international residents staying in the city this Christmas. What an excellent fair to share this fabulous community event with all our loved ones.

在上周末，杭州惠靈頓外籍人員子女學(xué)校（即杭州惠靈頓國(guó)際學(xué)校）便迎來歡樂無限的英倫風(fēng)情圣誕集市，整個(gè)校園都變成了一片歡樂的海洋。惠靈頓合唱團(tuán)在臺(tái)上高唱頌歌，感受節(jié)日的美好；惠靈頓社群齊聚一堂，共享地道圣誕美食；圣誕老人和小精靈與現(xiàn)場(chǎng)的學(xué)生家庭合照，分發(fā)可愛的姜餅人和圣誕帽，傳遞節(jié)日的祝福。在欣賞了別出心裁的歡樂燈光秀后，圣誕樹終于在一片倒計(jì)時(shí)中點(diǎn)亮，綻放出琉璃般的耀眼光彩，為本次圣誕集市圓滿地拉上帷幕。這場(chǎng)迎接圣誕節(jié)的盛大活動(dòng)為惠靈頓國(guó)際社群增添了活力與溫暖，讓居住在杭州的外籍朋友們也能感受到自己家鄉(xiāng)圣誕節(jié)的氛圍。真是一場(chǎng)精彩的家校共慶的社群活動(dòng)啊！
