      One of the first activity held at Hualang International after the start of the school year was to get out of the classroom and go for hike. Learning doesn"t just happen in the classroom, some of the most important learning in life actually comes from the most unlikely places. Quality non-formal education and academic learning play a key role in the development of young people, both helping them to "take on the world". This is in line with the philosophy of the Duke of Edinburgh"s International Award programme currently underway in the International Department, which focuses equally on experiential learning outside the classroom, including physical activity, skills acquisition, community service, outdoor adventures and more, in addition to formal learning.

      華朗國際部開學(xué)之后舉辦的第一次集體性活動,就是走出教室,到戶外來一次暢快的徒步。青年教育不僅局限在課堂中,在生活中孩子們往往能通過實(shí)踐,收獲更豐富細(xì)膩地體驗(yàn)性學(xué)習(xí)。優(yōu)質(zhì)的學(xué)術(shù)學(xué)習(xí)及”非正式“教育對青年的綜合性發(fā)展起著關(guān)鍵作用,能更好地幫助他們“迎接世界”。這和目前國際部正在進(jìn)行的愛丁堡公爵國際獎項(xiàng)目的理念是一致的,除了學(xué)科教育,我們也同樣注重課堂以外的體驗(yàn)式學(xué)習(xí),包括體能訓(xùn)練、技能拓展、社區(qū)服務(wù)、戶外探索等。

      Our student council members are involved in designing the event, setting goals, making plans, participating in implementation and then recording growth. Prior to the event, we have a Student Council meeting where ideas for the event are presented and a programme is completed. Applications are made to the school according to the process and adjustments are made based on comments and implementable requirements. The process is then designed according to the overall situation of the International Department, and all materials are prepared. Finally, all the activities are explained and presented and approved by everyone for implementation. This is all done in the students" spare time. Through this process, students become more confident and flexible, develop communication, problem-solving and leadership skills and gain an indescribable sense of achievement.

      目前,華朗國際部學(xué)生會成員全程參與到各項(xiàng)集體活動的內(nèi)容策劃、方案制定、組織實(shí)踐及記錄宣推等各個(gè)環(huán)節(jié)中。在活動開始前,大家會進(jìn)行集體會議,并于會議上提出活動想法、完成方案擬定。在向?qū)W校提出申請的過程中,學(xué)生們需要根據(jù)具體意見及要求做出調(diào)整,設(shè)計(jì)活動流程,做好材料準(zhǔn)備;最后要對該項(xiàng)目做公開說明及展示,獲得通過后的項(xiàng)目方可實(shí)施。以上都是學(xué)生利用課余時(shí)間進(jìn)行的。學(xué)生在這個(gè)過程中變得更加自信和靈活,發(fā)展了溝通、解決問題和領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力的能力,并且獲得無可比擬的成就感。

      Learning outside of the classroom is certainly not possible without physical exercise. We encourage students to take part in sports to keep fit and improve their fitness. This activity is conducted in small groups throughout the day, with each group having students as team leaders who lead their group members in purposeful and challenging activities in an unfamiliar environment. This helps them to understand the outdoor environment, improve their self-confidence, teamwork skills and physical fitness. Exercising the spirit of adventure and exploration, this is of course ensuring a safe environment, safe equipment and setting up a teacher for appropriate supervision.

      教室以外的學(xué)習(xí),當(dāng)然離不開對身體的鍛煉。我們鼓勵學(xué)生多進(jìn)行體育運(yùn)動,保持健康的體魄與充沛的體能。本次徒步全程按小組的形式進(jìn)行,每個(gè)小組都設(shè)定了學(xué)生分隊(duì)長,由隊(duì)長帶領(lǐng)小組成員在不熟悉的環(huán)境中有目的性的開展任務(wù)式挑戰(zhàn)活動。這能夠幫助他們親近大自然,增強(qiáng)團(tuán)隊(duì)合作能力和戶外體能,鍛煉冒險(xiǎn)和探索精神。當(dāng)然這是在確保了環(huán)境、設(shè)備等多方面安全措施的前提下進(jìn)行的,老師們也全程監(jiān)護(hù)陪同。

      Each group includes members of different genders and grades, as well as students and teachers, breaking up classroom-based groupings. Group members work together to complete the walk and complete challenges designed by the Student Council, working together to achieve goals and share experiences, which promotes the students" ability to integrate into the group. It is a great way to get fit, improve team skills, self-awareness and self-confidence.

      每一個(gè)小組成員都不限年齡及性別,打破了課堂教學(xué)的傳統(tǒng)分組。小組成員要共同完成徒步活動以及完成由學(xué)生會設(shè)計(jì)的挑戰(zhàn),共同完成目標(biāo)、分享體驗(yàn),這能很好的增強(qiáng)學(xué)生融入群體的能力,鍛煉體能、促進(jìn)團(tuán)隊(duì)技能、自我認(rèn)知和自信心的提升。

      Along the way, along the winding coastline, we linger in the rippling blue waves and lush trees, spreading vigor and vitality in the beautiful scenery, and deepening the profound friendship between teachers and friends in the enthusiastic interaction. This spring rest, let our body and mind actively relaxed, fill up the energy, put the rudder, towards the ideal life to continue!

      一路上,大家沿著蜿蜒的海岸線,流連在蕩漾的碧波和蔥郁的林木間,在秀麗風(fēng)光中播撒蓬勃朝氣,在興致昂揚(yáng)的互動中加深了師友間深厚的友誼。這場春之小憩,讓我們的身心都得到了積極放松,加滿油,把好舵,向著理想人生繼續(xù)前行!
