"As knowledge and information multiply, critical thinkers must successfully integrate disciplinary perspectives to understand complex issues and ideas." (IBO, 2022).
This is the statement made in the official document of IBO about the importance of interdisciplinary learning. It aligns with the philosophy of CBIS IB-PYP"s interdisciplinary house activity Pictionary Challenge this Thursday - that is, to let children easily integrate English, art and PE in the game, and experience the connection of disciplines in real life.

PICTIONARY CHALLENGE
本次活動(dòng)讓孩子們的多元智能得到充分展示。
在游戲規(guī)則講解階段,各家族的小畫家們?cè)缫涯ト琳?,在中外教主持的一聲”活?dòng)開(kāi)始“后,他們迅速并踴躍地從抽獎(jiǎng)箱抽取英語(yǔ)單詞,并將單詞以繪畫形式生動(dòng)地呈現(xiàn)在白板上,臺(tái)下觀眾積極討論圖畫并大膽”猜詞“,他們很快就破解了圖畫信息,并準(zhǔn)確說(shuō)出單詞。
但各家族的任務(wù)并未就此完成,在單詞被準(zhǔn)確猜中后,小畫家還需要變身運(yùn)動(dòng)達(dá)人,手持乒乓球快速跑至舞臺(tái)中央,將球精準(zhǔn)地投入家族盒子中。在一輪輪精彩的家族成員跨學(xué)科能力比拼后,藍(lán)色家族憑借最多的乒乓球數(shù)獲勝,獲勝家族的每一位成員都獲得一顆手工繪畫彩蛋,老師們希望他們能把藝術(shù)創(chuàng)造力延續(xù)到日常生活中。
This activity fully demonstrated the children"s multiple intelligences.
Listening to the briefing of game rules, our little painters in each house could not wait to try. After our hosts said "let"s get started", the little painters quickly and enthusiastically drew an English word from the lottery box and painted a vivid picture about it on the whiteboard. The audience actively discussed the picture and boldly guessed the word. They quickly decoded information in the picture and accurately said out the word.
But the task for each family was not fully completed. After the correct word was said loud, the little painter needed to become a sports talent, run quickly to the center of the stage with a table tennis ball, and throw the ball into a house box. After a round of wonderful interdisciplinary competition among house members, the blue house won with the largest number of table tennis balls. Each member of the winning house was rewarded with a hand-painted egg since the teachers hoped that they could extend their artistic creativity into daily life.

本次家族活動(dòng)讓孩子們的英語(yǔ)詞匯積累、美術(shù)繪畫即興創(chuàng)作以及體育肢體協(xié)調(diào)能力得到充分展現(xiàn),他們?cè)谳p松愉悅的游戲中,自然而然地將學(xué)科進(jìn)行串聯(lián),真實(shí)體驗(yàn)到了現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中跨學(xué)科能力的重要性。
This family activity fully demonstrated the children"s English vocabulary accumulation, improvised painting and body coordination ability. They naturally integrated disciplines in a relaxing and pleasant game, and truly experienced the significance of interdisciplinary ability in real life.
