RWI 學(xué)習(xí)背景
來自英國(guó)牛津的“Read, Write Inc.” 高質(zhì)量的自然拼讀教學(xué)法(簡(jiǎn)稱:RWI課程),經(jīng)過多年的嘗試和檢驗(yàn),被證實(shí)能夠高效地幫助英語非母語的學(xué)習(xí)者快速閱讀,從而更好地提高他們?cè)谟⒄Z理解、詞匯和拼寫方面的能力。RWI課程在英國(guó)和許多成功的國(guó)際學(xué)校廣泛使用,在哈羅深圳的幼教中心至小學(xué)2年級(jí),老師們也一直通過這樣的教學(xué)法幫助學(xué)生們快速學(xué)習(xí)英語的閱讀、寫作、口語和聽力四種技能。
經(jīng)過RWI課程訓(xùn)練而升入關(guān)鍵階段 2 (英式小學(xué)3年級(jí))的同學(xué)們,明顯更自信且善于表達(dá),這為他們接下來的語言學(xué)習(xí)及發(fā)展奠定了良好的基礎(chǔ)。小學(xué)部所有老師們都會(huì)定期且持續(xù)接受培訓(xùn),以確保他們的教學(xué)能切實(shí)幫助學(xué)生提高英文水平。

What is RWI?
Read, Write Inc is aprogramme which helps all children learn to read fluently and at speed so they can focus on developing their skills in comprehension, vocabulary and spelling. The programme is widely used across the UK and in many successful international schools and has a reputation for supporting the rapid progression of students learning across the four skills of English: reading, writing, speaking and listening. At Harrow Shenzhen, teachers have also been applying the RWI programme from the Early Years to Key Stage 1.
This programme sets the foundations for students’ development in language as they enter into Key Stage 2 as confident and articulate communicators. All teachers and support teachers in our Lower School receive regular and ongoing training to deliver this programme to ensure that practice leads to student improvement.

學(xué)生初始狀況
在2020年創(chuàng)校元年,由于不同的語言學(xué)習(xí)背景、突然進(jìn)入全英語教學(xué)環(huán)境、和疫情初期長(zhǎng)時(shí)間缺課等種種原因,我們第一批加入哈羅深圳的低幼齡學(xué)生面臨著種種學(xué)習(xí)上的挑戰(zhàn)。經(jīng)過一段時(shí)間老師們的循循善誘,所有同學(xué)的英語都百分百取得了進(jìn)步!

Starting profile
Our inaugural cohort of students came to us having faced many challenges, such as varied language journeys and exposure to English medium teaching, as well as in some cases prolonged periods of absence from school due to the pandemic of 2020. In the face of this, 100% of the cohort made progress!

卓有成效的英語成長(zhǎng)
回顧過往的一學(xué)年,我們見證了RWI教學(xué)法對(duì)于所有學(xué)生英語學(xué)習(xí)上的有效性。其中 45% 的學(xué)生更是超前達(dá)到了更高階的水準(zhǔn)。在校生都在自然拼讀方面取得了進(jìn)步。學(xué)年剛開始的階段,已有19%的學(xué)生達(dá)到英國(guó)對(duì)英語為母語的學(xué)生英語水平的要求;到了學(xué)期末,這一比例已上升至 50% 以上。 對(duì)于非英語母語的學(xué)生來說,這樣的成長(zhǎng)非常鼓舞人心!

Spotlight successes
Looking back at students’ progress over last academic year, whilst all of our students have made progress in phonics, 45% of them made expected or accelerated progress. Compared to 19% of the cohort were already at UK expected levels (for native English speakers) at the beginning of the academic year, by the end of the academic yearthis had risen to over 50%. This is excellent progress for non-native English speakers!

我們的評(píng)估方法
學(xué)生在開始學(xué)習(xí)RWI課程時(shí)(通常在幼兒園大班下學(xué)期,或入學(xué)哈羅時(shí))會(huì)進(jìn)行一次評(píng)估測(cè)試;并在幼兒園和小學(xué)一、二年級(jí)的學(xué)習(xí)期間,繼續(xù)定期接受評(píng)估測(cè)試。
每次評(píng)估測(cè)試之后,老師將根據(jù)學(xué)生水平進(jìn)行分組,并跟蹤每個(gè)學(xué)生的水平進(jìn)展。老師也會(huì)根據(jù)學(xué)生的需要進(jìn)行針對(duì)性的教學(xué)和配備相應(yīng)的材料資源,確保學(xué)生獲得適當(dāng)?shù)撵柟毯桶胃撸瑥亩@得成功。

How do we assess
the students?
Students are assessed at the start of the programme (usually in Term 3 of Reception/K2, or when they first arrive at our school). This continues throughout the programme at regular intervals during the course of Early Years and Key Stage 1.
Following each assessment, students are subsequently grouped according to their levels, and they are tracked as they advance through these levels. Teaching and resources are both aligned to the developmental needs of the students, ensuring appropriate challenge and stretch to enhance the opportunities for success.
