450校慶環(huán)校跑，是每一個(gè)學(xué)生的舞臺(tái)。他們?cè)谔魬?zhàn)自我的路上彰顯著哈羅一直所提倡的價(jià)值理念——“勇氣”。他們不僅是為了卓越的個(gè)人表現(xiàn)，更為了進(jìn)擊屬于院舍的集體榮譽(yù)。代表院舍榮譽(yù)的冠軍獎(jiǎng)杯將頒發(fā)給總積分最高的院舍，為慶祝哈羅450周年校慶，我校今年特別增設(shè)了450紀(jì)念大獎(jiǎng)杯，頒給低年級(jí)高年級(jí)總積分累積最高的院舍，相信院舍光輝在歷史傳承與校慶紀(jì)念的加持下會(huì)更加閃亮。

450周年校慶環(huán)校跑活動(dòng)，讓學(xué)生在銘記哈羅傳統(tǒng)的同時(shí)，也能學(xué)會(huì)以毅力面對(duì)挑戰(zhàn)。

The Harrow 450 Ducker is the stage for every student. On the way to challenge themselves, they demonstrate the values that Harrow has always advocated - Courage. Not only did they strive for outstanding individual performance, but also for the collective honour that belongs to House. The championship trophy representing House"s honour will be awarded to the House with the highest total points.

To celebrate the 450th anniversary of Harrow, our school has prepared a special award - the 450 Commemorative Award this year, and the trophy will be presented to the House with the highest accumulated points in the Lower School and Upper School.

Congratulations to winners showing the Harrow values of Courage, Honour, Humility and Fellowship in the race!

The children ran fast on the track,to stand on the podium and enjoy the cheers and applause,to gain the courage to fight again after failure,and to get a richer life experience about winning and losing.

450周年哈羅環(huán)校跑的起源

ABOUT Harrow 450 Ducker

哈羅環(huán)校跑（Harrow Ducker）是英國(guó)哈羅學(xué)校一項(xiàng)歷史悠久的傳統(tǒng)項(xiàng)目，也是我校今年的一個(gè)重要活動(dòng)，學(xué)生們當(dāng)天將以“環(huán)校跑”的形式進(jìn)行跑步比賽。

作為哈羅一直傳承的經(jīng)典體育和慈善項(xiàng)目，哈羅環(huán)校跑由在校生、教職員、校友和家長(zhǎng)聯(lián)合策劃和組織。在每年的十一月，為了紀(jì)念學(xué)校創(chuàng)始人約翰·里昂，參賽者會(huì)從倫敦市中心的地標(biāo)大理石拱門為起點(diǎn)，沿著10英里長(zhǎng)的約翰·里昂路，跑回哈羅公學(xué)。

The Harrow Ducker is a key part of our calendar, which sees students participating in a running race, in the style of the Long Ducker event which has a long history at Harrow UK.

This prestigious tradition pays tribute to the school"s founder, John Lyon. Every year at Harrow UK, boys, teachers, Old Harrovians and parents combine to organise and undertake a charity-sponsored run, the Long Ducker. Symbolically, it takes place along one of John Lyon’s roads, the Harrow Road from Marble Arch in central London to Harrow.

為了傳承約翰·里昂回饋社會(huì)的宗旨，學(xué)校也會(huì)將活動(dòng)募集的善款用于幫扶年輕殘障人士的就業(yè)，以及和伙伴學(xué)校及機(jī)構(gòu)構(gòu)建本地的慈善項(xiàng)目。

今年的活動(dòng)還有另一重要意義，活動(dòng)當(dāng)周，全球其他哈羅成員學(xué)校也將同步舉行環(huán)校跑活動(dòng)，共同慶祝哈羅建校450周年!

To carry on John Lyon"s mission of giving back to the community, the charity helps disadvantaged young people into work, as well as running local projects with partner schools and charities.

This year the event has additional significance as it will be run in the same week as all other Duckers in our sister schools around the world as part of the celebrations marking 450 years of Harrow.

We are very honoured to be able to invite parents to our campus, to wear the same colour as the children"s House uniform, and to cheer for our students with other parents in the House to celebrate Harrow"s 450th anniversary together.

The Harrow 450 Ducker is very different then before.

One is that most of them the children have been through it before, so they had full understanding of the importance of the events. The second thing I would say it"s really lovely to have our parents on site, brings a very vibrant atmosphere to the event. And the third thing was I"m sure I"ll see it from them over here, is that every child tried their best. Even if they weren"t first or second. They tried their best.

They face their challenges without termination, and work and rely on fellowship to collect all those house points and hope.

450周年校慶環(huán)校跑和以往有很大的不同。

我們的學(xué)生中有很多人已經(jīng)經(jīng)歷過(guò)環(huán)校跑，充分意識(shí)到環(huán)校跑對(duì)哈羅傳統(tǒng)的重要性。第二件事我想說(shuō)的是，我們的父母在現(xiàn)場(chǎng)真的很可愛(ài)，為活動(dòng)帶來(lái)了充滿活力的氛圍。第三件事是我相信我會(huì)從他們那里看到，每個(gè)孩子都盡了最大的努力。即使他們不是第一或第二，他們盡力做到了自己的最佳。

The 450 Ducker is being run in the same week across all Harrow Schools. This year we have decided to make this a whole school event, recognising the importance of collegiality amongst theHarrow Haikou community and the wider Harrow family.

Our event brings together the whole community in House spirit, where competition runs alongside fellowship to see our students, parents and staff join together in a very "Harrow" tradition, with a Haikou twist!

所有哈羅學(xué)校本月內(nèi)會(huì)同時(shí)舉行450周年環(huán)校跑活動(dòng)。今年我們決定將其作為一項(xiàng)全校性活動(dòng)，認(rèn)識(shí)到哈羅海口社區(qū)和更廣泛的哈羅大家庭之間合作的重要性。

賽場(chǎng)之下，哈羅海口社區(qū)聯(lián)合師生和家長(zhǎng)，共同完成一場(chǎng)慈善的傳承———拯救圓尾鱟。“哈羅慈善小鋪售賣員”的身影穿梭在操場(chǎng)和哈羅之友，售賣由學(xué)生自制的手工藝品和哈羅周邊，為國(guó)家二級(jí)保護(hù)動(dòng)物，瀕危滅絕的“鱟”保育項(xiàng)目籌集善款。

本次450周年哈羅環(huán)校跑募集的善款將用于的“鱟保育”的慈善項(xiàng)目，為海南富力紅樹灣濕地保護(hù)注入一份哈羅力量。

挑戰(zhàn)自我，探索未知，親情互助，追求榮譽(yù)。用一顆心撼動(dòng)另一顆心，用一份愛(ài)凝聚更多的愛(ài)，我們用行動(dòng)踐行著哈羅的價(jià)值觀“勇氣、榮譽(yù)、謙和、互助”，從自己力所能及的小事做起，提升自己，帶動(dòng)他人。

450校慶環(huán)校跑是一場(chǎng)慈善的傳承，我們期待更多的人關(guān)注海南本土自然資源保護(hù)，關(guān)注慈善，為社會(huì)做出自己的貢獻(xiàn)。

Outside the racetrack, the Harrow Haikou community, together with students, parents and staff, gives full support for a charity project – Saving the Horseshoe Crab. The US Charities group will also be selling handmade and Harrow-branded items, with proceeds going towards Chengmai Fuli Mangrove Bay to save the endangered horseshoe crabs.

We encourage the whole Harrow community to challenge themselves, explore the unknown, support each other, and pursue honour. We practice Harrow"s values of Courage, Honour, Humility, and Fellowship with our actions. We start with the little things that we can do andwork hard to improve ourselves and inspire others.

We look forward to more people paying attention to the protection of local natural resources in Hainan through this Harrow 450 Ducker event and making their own contributions to society.

I ran 3km in 15 minutes, which is the fastest I"ve ever run. It was my first time participating in the Harrow Ducker and I enjoyed running with my friends. My parents couldn"t come to school today. But my friends are cheering me on, and I"m so grateful for them.

My legs went numb at the end of the race, and I really wanted to stop and walk, but the voices of my tutor and my classmates kept ringing in my ears - Run! Run! Run! Although I don"t belong to Tu Youyou or Song Qingling Houses, the students of the two Houses are also cheering for me. I hope to take everyone"s encouragement and strive to be in the top three next year.

I challenged the 5km race and ran with my mom, and she was always behind me cheering me on. As Rudolph House"s Prefect, seeing the constant encouragement of my classmates in our House, I really wanted to prove myself and hope I could be a role model for them.

I saw my child fall behind on the second lap, so I joined the team running with our children. I want to run with my child because I hope he will have more confidence, and I am very pleased that he can keep running.

I see students selling umbrellas and cups, they are really brave at this age to take the initiative to sell, I think we must support them!

Later I found out that they were raising money for the rescue and protection of animals, and the quality of the products was really good. I also bought some as a reward for my child after the race, which is really meaningful!

The two of us signed up for the Parent Runner Team. Running 1600 meters was really challenging. We wanted to give up countless times in the middle, but we both encouraged each other to finish the race. We didn’t want our children to see us giving up easily. Thank you all for all of your help, collaboration, and hard work in the build up to, and during todays Harrow 450 Ducker Event. Events like these happen can only when we all work together. The real heroes today were our students; demonstrating all four of the Harrow Values in their contributions as athletes, superfans, and charity workers.
